However, while we expect all users to use common sense and to treat others with respect, there are certain activities and materials that will not be permitted:<\/p><h4>Unacceptable Materials<\/h4><p>Registered users of the ScreenSask website will not display, upload, post, or distribute any communication that may be considered offensive or illegal or inappropriate:<\/p><p><strong>Such materials include text, graphics, or multimedia files that:<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"list\"><li>Are racially, culturally, or sexually offensive.<\/li><li>Promote or facilitate illegal activity, or encourage participation in any illegal act such as drug use or violence.<\/li><li>Contain inappropriate language that is abusive or obscene.<\/li><li>Are intellectual property (e.g. copyright or trademarked material) and the consent of the intellectual property owner has not been obtained.<\/li><li>Are of a pornographic nature<\/li><li>Communicate messages of sexual harassment.<\/li><li>Threaten any person, or advocate violence, hatred, or discrimination toward individuals or groups of people.<\/li><li>Contain the personal information of another person without their informed consent.<\/li><li>Perpetuate \u201cspamming\u201d in the form of bulk email, junk email, chain email, or other email annoyances.<\/li><li>Misrepresent or hide one\u2019s identity as the source of information or communication.<\/li><\/ul><h4>Unacceptable Activities<\/h4><p><strong>Users of the ScreenSask website may not:<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"list\"><li>Tamper with the ScreenSask online network by subverting security measures or in any way change or disrupt the functionality of the website and its components. Hacking is a serious offence that is punishable by law.<\/li><li>Prevent any other user from accessing the ScreenSask online system, either by changing passwords or any other means.<\/li><li>Access any other person\u2019s account.<\/li><li>Tamper with any other person\u2019s files, settings, or personal pages.<\/li><li>Misrepresent the ideas, writing, images, multimedia, or any other work of others as being a creation of one\u2019s own. Plagiarism will not be tolerated by SMPIA, and copyright laws are in place to protect the ownership of such work.<\/li><li>Knowingly upload or circulate computer viruses.<\/li><li>Fail to abide by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/smpia.sk.ca\/terms-of-use\/\">Terms of Use<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul><h4>Consequences<\/h4><p><strong>Failure to comply with the ScreenSask online Code of Conduct could result in:<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"list\"><li>Suspension from the ScreenSask online system.<\/li><li>Removal from ScreenSask online.<\/li><li>Legal action, in extreme cases (hate postings, child porn, etc.)<\/li><\/ul><h4>Community Moderation<\/h4><p>The ScreenSask website is moderated by the staff of ScreenSask and\/or paid contractor(s).<\/p><p>In addition to the website staff, all users of the ScreenSask website are encouraged to participate in \u201ccommunity moderation\u201d. This means that you are given the power to tell us what you think is inappropriate website behaviour for other registered users of the ScreenSask website.<\/p><p>In such cases, please send us an email at office@omnionlinestg.wpcdev.ca\/screensask.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 1.5rem;\">Personal Safety<\/span><\/p><p>Even though most of the people you\u2019ll meet while using the ScreenSask website are good people like yourself, there\u2019s always a chance that someone using the system may have dangerous or inappropriate intentions. Remember, people you communicate with on the Internet may be very different people in person. There are a few basic rules you can follow protect yourself:<\/p><h4>Personal Information<\/h4><p>Never communicate your personal information to people you don\u2019t know. Your private information is just that \u2013 private. Never reveal this information through email, uploading it to any pages on the SMPIA website, or posting it to a public discussion forum.<\/p><p><strong>Your personal information includes:<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"list\"><li>Your full name.<\/li><li>Your home address<\/li><li>Your personal (non-SMPIA) email address.<\/li><li>Your telephone number<\/li><li>Your ScreenSask website password, or any other passwords or secret access codes<\/li><li>Other people also have a right to their own privacy. Never reveal personal information about anyone else to strangers online.<\/li><\/ul><p>As a general rule, never post personal information unless you know who\u2019s reading it.
